In the heart of Porto, Paços da Prelada Evo, designed by Estudio Unira, redefines the concept of communal areas within a residential environment. This innovative project has been conceived with a philosophy centered on well‑being, functionality, and aesthetics. The spaces are not merely passages between dwellings, but true extensions of the home, designed to foster social interaction, collaborative work, personal development, and recreation. And in this ambitious vision, the flooring plays a crucial role.
Our SPC vinyl Click&Floor flooring was the perfect choice to harmonize each of the environments. We selected the Honey Oak tone from the Oak series, chosen for its warm and natural design that provides visual continuity, comfort underfoot, and resistance to heavy use—essential qualities in spaces meant to be actively lived in by the entire community.
In the coworking areas, the Honey Oak flooring creates a serene and professional atmosphere. The combination of shared work tables, indoor plants, and natural light fosters creativity and productivity. The floor’s tone subtly integrates with natural materials and soft furnishings, contributing to a quiet yet lively space. Meanwhile, the multipurpose room—equipped with light wood folding chairs and artisanal pendant lamps—easily becomes a setting for meetings, workshops, or private events. Here, the flooring acts as an elegant, functional backdrop, capable of handling constant traffic and furniture rearrangements without losing its beauty or integrity.
The zones dedicated to youths and children, including study and exercise areas, required flooring that combined durability and safety—and our SPC vinyl fully delivers: its surface is non‑slip, easy to clean, and sufficiently resistant to physical activity, as evidenced in the area equipped with climbing bars and rings.
In this sense, the continuous use of the same flooring throughout the spaces provides a strong visual identity to the project. This coherence not only reinforces a sense of openness and connection between environments, but also conveys order and serenity—key to the residents’ well‑being. At Paços da Prelada Evo, interior design is not an afterthought but a tool for improving quality of life. Thanks to our SPC vinyl flooring, each space gains in personality, functionality, and comfort. This project is a clear example of how the floor can be the thread that ties aesthetics, usability, and emotion into a single place.
