Serene balance: light, texture, and color in a contemporary bathroom

This bathroom renovation project, designed by French interior designer Clara Bouyer, has been conceived as a space ready to be lived in from the very first moment: practical, bright, and coherent in every decision. With a clear premise—creating a sober, functional, and long-lasting environment—the design relies on ceramics as the main tool to build identity and comfort.

The proposal is defined by a carefully balanced interplay between dynamism and calm. Bluish tones bring freshness and personality, while neutral surfaces and natural light create a sense of order and well-being. The result is a contemporary bathroom designed for daily use, where every element serves a purpose without compromising on aesthetics.

The focus lies on the combination of two ceramic coverings: Agadir Agua and Kit-Kat Snow Glossy. Both materials, different in character yet complementary, create a visual dialogue that defines the space.

In the shower area, Agadir Agua becomes the main feature. Its bluish tone, rich in nuances, evokes the calm of water and creates an enveloping atmosphere that transforms the shower into a relaxing space. Each tile presents subtle chromatic variations, generating a vibrant surface where light reflects differently throughout the day.

The vertical format of the tile enhances the perception of height and order, creating a clean and balanced composition. The aligned installation reinforces visual continuity and allows the color to stand out clearly, without interruptions. In contrast, the washbasin area is finished with Kit-Kat Snow Glossy, a cladding made of narrow, elongated pieces that introduce a subtle and elegant texture. Its glossy finish reflects light and enhances the overall brightness, bringing a sense of cleanliness and lightness.

The white tone of this tile also acts as a neutral base, allowing the blue color to stand out more vividly. This combination creates a soft and harmonious contrast, where no element competes, but rather complements one another.
