Design, light and geometry around the bar

Stepping into Ambré Proust Effect Café-Bar in Krasnodar, Russia, means entering a space where practically nothing serves merely as a backdrop. Lighting fixtures hang at different heights, mirrors multiply the scene, green tones envelop the more intimate areas, and golden surfaces introduce flashes of light into an architectural setting dominated by dark tones.

Gastronomy, cocktails and music coexist in this café, conceived as a true gastro-boutique where the experience goes far beyond the table. Its interior design, by K-PRO Design and Alexander Smolnyakov, creates a sophisticated and immersive atmosphere in which lighting, materials and textures take centre stage. At the heart of the concept is the bar, clad in our Origami Dorado tile, which becomes one of the defining elements of the venue’s identity and an immediate focal point.

A gastro-boutique designed around the experience

The concept behind Ambré Proust Effect Café-Bar is based on a clear premise: to create a space where guests can enjoy signature cuisine and exclusive cocktails in a relaxed setting, while also being able to transform to host contemporary electronic music performances.

This duality is directly reflected in the interior design. Dark tones, deep greens and golden finishes create a distinctly nocturnal atmosphere, while reflective surfaces, mirrors and carefully considered lighting enhance the sense of depth and create different settings within the same space.

Velvet-upholstered furniture adds softness, contrasting with the industrial elements and exposed ceiling installations. The result is a continuous interplay of contrasts: glossy and matt, geometry and smooth surfaces, warm materials and more technical finishes.

Origami Dorado: a bar that changes with the light

The bar is one of the main architectural focal points of Ambré Proust Effect Café-Bar. Its elongated design organises the space and draws the eye towards a backdrop where bottles, mirrors and lighting fixtures create a striking vertical composition.

On its lower section, our Origami Dorado tile transforms the bar cladding into a three-dimensional surface. Its geometry creates a succession of planes that capture the light in different ways, producing areas of brightness and shadow that shift depending on the viewer’s position.

The golden finish also establishes a dialogue with the suspended lighting, metal profiles and details throughout the furniture. In this way, the ceramic surface does not appear as an isolated element, but rather as an integral part of a material language that is repeated throughout the project.

Choosing a textured ceramic covering for the bar also introduces depth and tactility into an interior dominated by large dark surfaces. Against the black backdrop and the intense greens of the furniture, Origami Dorado brings light, depth and a sophisticated touch.

Ambré Proust Effect Café-Bar thus demonstrates how ceramic can transcend its role as a mere covering material in bar and restaurant interior design projects. Applied to such an important architectural element as the bar, it becomes a tool for building identity, transforming light and making a surface an active part of the spatial experience.
