"Without question, airports are places with high footfall, where people have to wait to embark or, sometimes, spend a lot of time if they are making a stopover between flights.
Therefore, in recent years, the companies responsible for these airspaces have endeavored to reinvent the concept of airports and created areas where passengers can feel at home.
The clear goal is to offer a high-quality service, combining design and functionality with the user’s wellbeing as a central focus.
A clear example of these concepts being combined is in the new Business Lounge area at Pulkovo International Airport (Saint Petersburg), which was designed by Privilege Design Studio."
Inspiration and trends
This new business lounge is designed to allow domestic airline passengers to work while they wait for their flights to depart. For Privilege Design Studio it has been a real challenge to fulfill this ambitious project, in which the core idea was to create a comfortable and dynamic space without sacrificing design.
So, the team rolled up their sleeves to create this stunning business lounge, with no shortage of small details. Moving beyond the imperial Russian style, Privilege Design Studio has designed this project: a truly bold solution which breaks the mold. The result: a standout project.
Creative result
Overall, the Russian airport's new business lounge has a fresh new image, where the black tiles combine perfectly with the marble and wood. The room also has stunning lighting, which maximizes the aesthetics of this work setting. The most striking elements are the various walls covered with our Glass Mirror model.
"This stylish mosaic, made with mirrors, maximizes the spaciousness of any room and, therefore, it is perfect for a crowded airport that can sometimes create a cooped up feeling. In addition to this, the design of this Dune product adds a subtle sparkle which, combined with the natural light and ambient lighting, creates an optimal effect that enhances the project’s beauty.
