Antiga is a series that takes us back to the origins of 17th-century Valencian ceramics, paying tribute to traditional tiles, such as those found in the kitchen of the Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas and the classic "mocaoret" tile. Inspired by historical traditional ceramics, this series revives the typical patterns and colors of Valencian manor houses, where the warmth of ornamental motifs and vibrant colors provide a sense of authenticity and connection to the past.
The designs of Antiga recall the bold patterns that defined traditional ceramics, but with a refined touch. The series has been carefully designed from salvaged pieces that were scanned and individually worked to reproduce the marks and wear caused by time, giving each piece a unique and yet refined character. Antiga consists of five gloss finish coating colors in 6.9x24cm, a white porcelain base in 20x20cm, and three decorative proposals: Cabanyal, Mareny, and Barraquetes. Each of these patterns, with their glazed volume and highlighted brushstrokes, offers great aesthetic value and versatility. Cabanyal, inspired by the namesake Valencian neighborhood, is perfect for creating geometries and playing with different layouts. Mareny and Barraquetes, with their green and blue tones reminiscent of the Albufera, allow for exploring combinations and creating fresh and vibrant environments.
