Art Deco geometry, colour and relief in a surface transformed by light.
Esclat means “flash” in Catalan. A name that captures the moment when light falls on a ceramic surface and reveals new reflections, intensities and nuances. The collection is born precisely from this interaction between light, glaze and relief, reinterpreting the visual richness of traditional ceramic processes through a contemporary aesthetic.
Inspired by the alchemy of reactive glazes, Esclat reproduces the effects that occur unpredictably during firing through advanced industrial techniques. In its 11.5×23.1cm format, the combination of granules applied over digital decoration, with full-field granules along the edges and broken granules in the central area, creates different textures and accumulations that visually enrich the surface. The result recalls the depth and variations characteristic of handcrafted glazes, translated into a technically controlled collection.
Its most distinctive feature is the oval relief, a geometry inspired by Art Deco that brings rhythm and volume to the wall covering. The different planes cause light to fall differently across each area, intensifying certain parts of the glaze while softening others. The surface therefore changes depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions, creating a continuous interplay of light, shadow and reflections.
The palette consists of eight colours, ranging from luminous neutrals to warm tones, greens, blues and deeper earthy shades. The relief and gloss ensure that the colour never appears flat: each shade develops different intensities and nuances as light moves across the surface. Once grouted, the geometry of the 11.5×23.1cm format visually highlights the small ovals that make up the design. The grout joint thus becomes an additional creative resource, either blending with the colour of the ceramic or creating contrast to emphasise the pattern.
Esclat is a collection of porcelain relief tiles in an 11.5×23.1cm format with a glossy finish, designed for projects seeking expressive surfaces with a strong decorative identity. A neo-Mediterranean collection that combines geometry, material, colour and light to bring Art Deco inspiration into contemporary interior design.
