Silvia Soqueff is an architect. Since she was a child she dreamed of this profession, so she feels very privileged to have such a clear vocation and passion, she considers it a great stimulus of life.
She studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Buenos Aires. After graduating, she began to work independently, walking her own path until she met the architect Giancarlo Puppo, with whom she worked for many years. This stage was fundamental, as he was able to develop an aesthetic and ideology that he maintains to this day.
Although she seeks evolution and transformation in each new project, there is a language that represents her. Over the years, she has carried out a large number of works, from recycling old houses to new constructions, including commercial premises and offices. The main driving force behind her work is listening to the dreams and desires of people who are looking for a change in the way they live.
The great challenge is to transform those dreams into real spaces, with design, functionality and care for economic and environmental resources. When it comes to designing, he likes to think of dynamic spaces that flow into each other, creating a dance-like experience as you walk through them. He values details and likes to discover something new with every glance.
She prefers materials in their natural state, leaving iron or concrete structures, installations, masonry, multi-laminated boards, OSB and different types of veneer exposed. She dares to mix textures, colours and old and contemporary elements.
Regarding installations, she has always seen them as the elements that give life to a building. Just like veins and arteries in the human body, installations carry the energies that make spaces habitable: electricity, water, heating, gas and drainage pipes.
Another privilege of architecture is that we can treat it as habitable sculptures. Her greatest satisfaction is to see how what was once a dream is transformed into a space that can be lived in and enjoyed.
