At Paysandú Bathroom, a renovation carried out by DUO Reformas, the character of the space emerges from the combination of materials. White ceramic tiles, terrazzo and light create a serene atmosphere where different surfaces come together and complement one another without competing for attention.
Our Tabarca Blanco wall tiles cover the walls, bringing brightness and subtle texture to the space. Their small format introduces rhythm to the vertical surfaces and breaks up the uniformity of the white, allowing the light to reveal the nuances and slight variations of each individual piece.
In contrast, terrazzo extends from the floor halfway up the walls, creating a visual base that wraps around the bathroom and lends a more mineral character to the overall design. The choice of light tones allows both materials to coexist naturally while maintaining a sense of continuity throughout the space.
The point where the two surfaces meet also becomes a functional feature. In the shower area, this transition forms a long, integrated niche with built-in lighting, providing practical storage while highlighting the materiality of the wall. The indirect lighting adds depth and brings the texture of Tabarca Blanco into particular focus.
The rest of the interior follows the same pursuit of visual lightness: white furniture and sanitaryware, a large mirror and a transparent shower screen reduce visual clutter, allowing the materials themselves to define the character of the project.
Paysandú Bathroom demonstrates how combining white tiles and terrazzo in a bathroom can create a warm, contemporary interior where texture, light and functionality come together as part of a single composition.
